The Selfiecity<\/a> project uses and has created digital tools, to help them create and make their project come to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Image Plots<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This digital tool is called the image plot. The image plot consist of all of the selfies taken from each city in a collage. This collage above contains the selfies from New York City, but their is a collage for each cities selfies that were collected. This collection of photos from each city can allow us to see how similar or how different the selfies are from the same city and culture. The picture on the right is also an image plot just in a different set up. The graph-like image plot graph shows the gender and age profiles from each city. If you drag your mouse along the graph selfies will pop up from each city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selfie Exploratory<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The selfie exploratory is another digital tool made by the team of Selfiecity. This tool has every aspect of the selfies taken broken into groups. Broken down to the cities, age, gender, looking up or down, if their head is titled or turned, eyes, mouth, glasses, and their mood. And again when you hover over the graphs you will see every selfie in that category. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can it Be Used in DH<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These tools used and made in Selfiecity could be used in digital humanities. These tools are made for this specific project, but with any project showing your data is important. Given DH uses quantitative data, the different types of graphs used are versatile but also different and interesting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
