The D.C. 1968 projec<\/a>t highlights the events and the social construct of Washington D.C. in 1968. The project shows everyday life in D.C. by sharing one story every day for the whole year. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The creator is Marya Annette McQuirte<\/a>r, she grew up in Washington. McQuirter published the project in 2018 as a 50 year anniversary memorial for the year of 1968 in Washington D.C.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The picture above features Mcquirter<\/a>, the 2nd from the right, with her sisters and cousin. This photo was taken in August of 1968, when Mcquirter was three years old. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

McQuirte<\/a>r describes her project as a way to focus on the lost stories of the residents of DC in 1968. She aimed to “highlight and amplify activism, architecture, art, beliefs, institutions, media, nature, politics, public space, schools, sports and technology”<\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
