ACLED&#8217;s analysis of these events describe and contextualize the trends behind violence. With better and more accessible data and information ACELED hopes to inform decisions that will reduce the quantity and mortality of violent conflicts internationally .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Publishing their findings allows for ACLED to be a research source for geopolitical conflict and violence across the world. Providing access to this information allows for a more wholistic understanding of theses conflicts and to find way to alleviate the effects of war and prevent violent conflicts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ACLED hopes to be a resource for the audience of media outlets, scholars, policymakers, and practitioners around the world for a wide range of applications and is committed to staying open access and available for human rights advocacy and academic research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Collecting and preserving this data ensures that information about these conflicts cannot be manipulated and obstructs the dissemination of misinformation. Having historic records of warfare and its effects ensures we have access to past conflicts and the information needed to prevent future conflicts when similar trends arise.
