It is clear that Fowkes believes that the consumption of global sounds leads to a better understanding of global communities. The project is based on the idea that we can become more accepting of others by listening to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fowkes incorporates all kinds of recordings with very little restrictions, and he prides himself on &#8220;remixing the world&#8221; and presenting &#8220;major global collaborations.&#8221; It is his hope that the project leads to a deeper understanding and appreciation of other cultures, as listeners are immersed into the city that the sound is taken from.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Diversity The Cities and Memory project celebrates diversity, as it can be used as a platform for areas and individuals from all around the world to be heard.
