For this project, I\u2019m diving into\u00a0Selfiecity, a digital humanities project that I think really shows what\u2019s possible when art, culture, and data all come together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Selfiecity\u00a0looks at how people all over the world take and share selfies on\u00a0Instagram. It was created by\u00a0Lev Manovich and his team at the\u00a0Cultural Analytics Lab\u00a0in New York. The project mixes\u00a0data science, art history, and cultural studies\u00a0to analyze thousands of selfies and find patterns in how we express identity and self image online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I chose this project because it connects digital tools with everyday culture in such an interesting way.
